Sunrise Initiative
Project Overview
Sunrise Initiative is a retrofit and community generation programme across 1,400 social homes — fabric first, then heat pumps, with rooftop generation shared through a local supply arrangement.
What we provide:
- Stock condition and retrofit assessment
- Fabric-first specification and sequencing
- Heat pump design and installer management
- Rooftop generation and shared supply structuring
- Resident engagement and handover
- Post-occupancy performance monitoring

Our Approach
Our platform and services are designed to make eco-conscious transformation simple, scalable, and transparent.
Homes were sequenced by measured performance rather than by archetype, which meant surveying more properties up front and insulating considerably fewer of the wrong ones. Every heat pump installation followed fabric work rather than accompanying it, so the units could be sized to the improved demand instead of the original.

Technology Used
Sunrise Initiative reduced heating costs for residents while cutting the association's carbon liability, and the post-occupancy data has since reshaped its wider retrofit programme.
- 1,400 homes retrofitted over three phases
- Average heating demand reduced by 54%
- 2.1 MW rooftop generation shared with residents
- Measured performance gap under 15% against design
