Sustainability Data Analyst
About The Role
Data is what turns our sustainability advice from an opinion into a claim somebody can check. As Sustainability Data Analyst you will build the datasets and the reporting behind client engagements, and be the person who knows which numbers are solid and which are estimates.
Key Responsibilities
You will work with consultants, engineers and client teams, and much of the role is making other people's data usable before any analysis can begin.
- Collect, clean and reconcile energy, carbon, waste and water datasets.
- Build dashboards that a non-analyst can read without a briefing.
- Define and maintain the indicators each programme is measured on.
- Document data lineage and quality so findings can be audited.
- Support disclosure reporting with traceable figures.
- Automate the reporting that currently gets rebuilt by hand each quarter.
What We're Looking For
Someone who is sceptical of their own outputs, and who would rather publish a range with its assumptions stated than a single confident number nobody can reproduce.
You should have
- Two or more years in analytics, ideally with environmental data.
- SQL, and Python or R.
- Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
- The habit of writing down what a figure does and does not include.
