Aurora Grid
Aurora Grid is a 180 MW solar and storage development in northern Jutland, built on land previously used for low-yield arable farming. GreenAxis led feasibility, grid connection and owner's engineering through to energisation.
What we provide:
- Site feasibility and yield assessment
- Grid connection strategy and application
- Owner's engineering and contractor oversight
- Battery sizing and dispatch modelling
- Commissioning and performance verification
- Ongoing asset performance monitoring

We began with a twelve-month resource and constraint study across four candidate parcels, then took the strongest through connection application. The battery was sized against modelled curtailment rather than a round number, which reduced the capital cost by roughly a fifth without measurably affecting revenue. Construction oversight focused on the two areas that historically cause underperformance: string commissioning records and tracker calibration.

Aurora Grid has run above its P50 yield estimate in each of its first four quarters, and the storage asset has captured materially more of the evening price spread than the original case assumed.
- 180 MW generation with 60 MWh co-located storage
- Energised four months ahead of the connection date
- Yield 3.1% above the P50 estimate over the first year
- Grazing retained across 60% of the site footprint
