Renewable Energy
About The Role
This is the engineering role at the centre of our project delivery. You will take sites from feasibility through design, connection and commissioning, and be accountable for whether the array performs the way the model said it would.
Key Responsibilities
The work is a mixture of desk-based design and site presence, with a good deal of coordination between developers, contractors and the network operator.
- Run yield assessments and shading analysis for candidate sites.
- Produce electrical and layout designs to construction standard.
- Manage grid connection applications and network operator liaison.
- Specify equipment and review contractor submissions.
- Oversee commissioning and performance testing.
- Investigate underperformance across the operating portfolio.
What We're Looking For
An engineer who has seen projects through to energisation and knows where the schedule usually goes wrong. Comfort with the unglamorous parts — connection paperwork, contractor management — matters more than exotic technical depth.
You should have
- A degree in electrical or energy engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Delivery experience on utility-scale solar, wind or storage.
- Familiarity with grid connection processes and relevant standards.
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
