Climate Specialist
About The Role
As Climate Specialist you are the person who decides what our advice is actually based on. You will build the emissions and climate-risk analysis behind client engagements, and defend the methodology when it is challenged — which it should be.
Key Responsibilities
The work spans inventory construction, scenario analysis and translating both into recommendations that a client can act on within their own budget cycle.
- Build greenhouse gas inventories across scopes 1, 2 and 3.
- Run scenario and transition-risk analysis against recognised pathways.
- Review and challenge supplier-reported emissions data.
- Set science-aligned reduction targets with clients and stage them realistically.
- Keep our methodology documentation current as standards change.
- Brief client leadership on findings, including the uncertain parts.
What We're Looking For
Rigour, and the confidence to publish a range rather than a falsely precise figure. You will spend as much time on data quality as on analysis, and the role suits someone who finds that interesting rather than tedious.
You should have
- A background in environmental science, engineering or a related field.
- Practical experience with GHG Protocol and at least one disclosure framework.
- Comfort with incomplete data and explicit assumptions.
- The ability to explain a methodology to a sceptical audience.
